Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris

Kirito was chosen to be one of the one thousand beta testers for the closed beta of Sword Art Online, the first ever Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (VRMMORPG) for the NerveGear, and later joined the official version of the game. He thus became one of the 10,000 players who were trapped in Sword Art Online, where he remained a solo player for the majority of the game, willingly taking on the role of a Beater to reduce discrimination against other former beta testers, as well as actively taking part in Boss battles as one of the Clearers. Kirito temporarily became a member of the Moonlit Black Cats after helping them safely escape a dangerous dungeon, but returned to being a solo player when a fatal error resulted in the death of the other guild members. At some point in the game, Kirito became known as the «Black Swordsman» (黒の剣士, Kuro no Kenshi) due to his tendency to wear black clothing. Near the end of the game, Kirito joined the Knights of the Blood due to losing a wager with its leader, Heathcliff. Kirito eventually put an end to the game by defeating the final boss, thus clearing the game.

Having lost her will to fight following Supreme Priest Quinella's and Chief Elder Chudelkin's death and Kirito entering a comatose state in the aftermath of the battle, Alice returned to Rulid Village with Kirito to avoid possible retribution on the boy's life, reuniting with her sister Selka Zuberg there. Following a goblin attack on the village, during which Alice regained her desire to protect their world, Alice travelled to the Great Eastern Gate to join the Human Guardian Army in order to defend the Human Empire against an invasion by the Dark Territory Army.

ユージオ

One year later, Eugeo and his partner Kirito successfully enrolled at the Sword Mastery Academy as one of the top twelve students of the year, thus becoming a valet to Elite Disciple Golgorosso Balto. As the fifth best student at the end of the first academy year, Eugeo became one of the twelve Elite Disciples the following year, being assigned Tiese Schtrinen as his valet. However, when his valet Tiese and her friend Ronye Arabel were provoked by high-ranked nobles Raios Antinous and Humbert Zizek into insulting them, Eugeo overwhelmed his Seal of the Right Eye and broke the Taboo Index by slashing Humbert in an effort to save the girls from being sexually abused by the high-ranked nobles, leading to Kirito also breaking the Taboo Index by attacking Raios to save Eugeo from retribution.

メディナ・オルティナノス

Medina has short, crimson red hair and green eyes with short, thick eyebrows. She is often seen wearing crimson red armor with white and gold-colored patterns. She also has a narrow cape hanging behind her back and gloves with wide wrists on her hands in the same colour. Below the short skirt of her overalls, black, thigh-high boots with the same crimson, white and golden patterns accompany her outfit. Medina's preferred choice of weaponry is her katana, the Mirage Blade.

結城明日奈

After Sword Art Online was cleared, Asuna transferred her SAO avatar to ALfheim Online and began playing the game as an Undine. Due to her tendency to charge into battle with a rapier despite being a healer, she has earned the nickname «Berserk Healer» (バーサクヒーラー, Bāsaku Hīrā). Asuna has also created an alternative avatar, the Sylph «Erika» (エリカ, Erika), as she sometimes wanted to change her appearance.

ファナティオ

Fanatio wears a set of full body, purple light armour completely tinged with a refined orchid radiance that is noticeably more sophisticated than that of the regular Integrity Knights, with a helmet modeled after the wings of birds of prey.

セルカ・ツーベルク

Selka is a young girl with light brown hair and eyes of the same color. During the day, she wears a slightly oversized black habit with a white collar and has her hair braided into a ponytail. During the night, after bathing she changes into a cotton nightgown and ties her hair in a braid.

レンリ

Having stopped aging at the age of fifteen after becoming an Integrity Knight, Renly had a childish appearance: a short stature, a childish face with round cheeks, and feminine eyes with long lashes that lacked knightly fortitude. Renly had yellow eyes and short, green hair (gray in the novel text) with a longer flock of braided hair at his temples on either side The knight donned silvery plate armour over his upper body and hips, under which he wore green clothes. The boy also had green pants that transitioned into bluish thigh-high socks, as well as a green patch over the upper portion of chest armour, decorated with the Axiom Church's crest that consisted of a cross overlapping a ring. Renly also wore white shoes, while his hands up to his elbows were protected with silvery gauntlets. A white mantle hung over the knight's back.

デュソルバート

Deusolbert first appears as a knight wearing silver heavy armor that is polished to such an extent that the armor seems like a mirror. The armor covers his entire body and all the joints are covered by finely knit silver chains. The headpiece, which mimics a dragon's head, has its forehead protruding out, has long decorated horns stretched backwards on its sides, while the Knight's face is hidden behind a huge visor with a cross-shape opening. After he returns to the Central Cathedral and is promoted to guarding the Central Cathedral, he is issued a copper-red version of the armor.

フィゼル

Fizel has straw-colored hair in a short cut, with her two eyes accented upwards. She is described as having an expression of resolve. She wears and ink-black uniform, identical to Linel's. Her uniform has a green belt, with short-swords attached, close to the length of a dagger, at thirty «cen», with a grip made of reddish wood.
