Urusei Yatsura

Lum (ラム, Ramu), sometimes called Lum Invader, is the female protagonist of Urusei Yatsura. She is a Oni alien hailing from the planet Oniboshi. She was chosen to represent her kind in a game of tag against a human named Ataru Moroboshi to determine the fate of planet Earth. After Ataru defeats her, she misunderstands his victory chants as a proposal to marry her, thus she forces herself into his life and becomes Ataru's loving "wife' much to the latter's chagrin.

諸星あたる

Ataru Moroboshi (諸星あたる, Moroboshi Ataru, lit. Falling star to get hit) is the main protagonist of Urusei Yatsura. He is the most lecherous teenager in the universe.

三宅しのぶ

Shinobu is Ataru Moroboshi's childhood friend and classmate at Tomobiki High School, Class 2-4. She possesses Herculean level super-strength that is easily triggered when Ataru or anyone else harasses or threatens her. This aspect of Shinobu has been relied upon by her classmates and friends during serious situations. A neat and clean young lady, she has horrible luck with men, usually only attracting monsters and perverts. However, towards the end of the series her bad luck seems to end when she meets Inaba, an employee of the Destiny Production Management Bureau.

面堂終太郎

Born April 1, Mendō is heir to the powerful Mendō Zaibatsu. His family has their own private army, a fortune of at least 50 billion yen, and owns 51% of Japan. In Vol. 3 of the manga, he transfers to Tomobiki High School. Handsome, athletic, and talented, all of the girls soon fall for Mendō. Mendō, however, is just as lecherous as Ataru and professes his "love" for Shinobu and other girls, sweeping them off their feet. In stark contrast to this, he treats all of the men of the class like dirt. He frequently parachutes to school from his private jet. Though he walks with a sense of pride and looks down on his fellow male students and their shenanigans, Mendō is actually very similar to them: he is obsessed with women (particularly Lum), he has no respect for Onsen-Mark (though he often pretends he does), he views Ten as a nuisance, and of course, he is jealous of Ataru.

Ten came to earth to see what kind of person Lum's new fiance Ataru Moroboshi was, but he instantly decides that Ataru is not suitable for her. So, with Lum acting as his legal guardian, he moves into the Moroboshi house in order to break them up through various schemes.

おユキ

Oyuki first appears when she opens a portal connected to Ataru Moroboshi's closet in order to get rid of the excess snow on Neptune. All of the men on Neptune are working away from home at the time, so she has Lum's Stormtroopers (whom had come along to Neptune with Ataru) to handle the snow shoveling.

こたつ猫

Kotatsu-neko (コタツネコ, Kotatsu Cat or Heated Table Cat) is a large ghost cat who loves kotatsu and haunts Ataru Moroboshi's room.

キツネ

Kitsune (キツネ) is a cute and honest little fox spirit, but with amorous thoughts on his mind. He is quite playful and has a serious crush on Shinobu.
