He has short brown hair and a lean body with an average height of a teenager. Kei bears a resemblance to Michael J. Fox; Oka has been quoted as saying that Back to the Future was a large influence on him as a youth.

Kato is known by the entire Gantz team for his altruism and gentleness, using force only when necessary (also known as a gentle giant according to Kishimoto). Throughout the series, he is constantly looking for another way to end the missions instead of simply killing the aliens and is always trying to find a way for all players to come back alive. Although he tries to be a pacifist, he has shown himself to be violent when necessary, an example being when Kato assaults Onidzuka without warning after the latter expressed a desire to rape him.

下平玲花

Reika is considered by most to be an extremely attractive woman of average height with mid-back length black hair that has bangs hanging on the right side, brown eyes, a large bust, wide hips and a narrow waist.

西丈一郎

According to some half Japanese fansite his name is Johichiro and in the official Dark Horse translation of the manga he originally names himself Ichiro Nishijo. But when the first mission ends he is called Mr. Nishi by Gantz. Afterwards he is mostly known as simply Nishi.Since he probably was lying when he introduced himself and most people know him as Joichiro Nishi. This is the name we will be using for him.

風大左衛門

Daizaemon Kaze (風 大左衛門, Kaze Daizaemon) is a tall and incredibly powerful martial artist who comes from the countryside to Tokyo looking for a good fight. He appears to practice Bājíquán (Chinese: 八極拳; pinyin: Bājíquán) which is a Chinese martial art that features explosive, short-range power and is famous for its elbow strikes.

小島多恵

Tae is described by other characters as looking 'homely', sometimes 'dull'. She is an average, petite teenage girl with black hair, usually in two pigtails with bangs.

桜井弘斗

When he and Kenzo Sakata witness Izumi's Shinjuku massacre, he insists in trying to stop Izumi and convinces Sakata to join him, arguing that it is a good opportunity to redeem themselves for the murders they committed themselves. While they do put up a good fight, Izumi still does manage to kill both, leading them to Gantz.

和泉紫音

Shion Izumi (和泉 紫音, Izumi Shion) is the boyfriend of Ryouko Shinozaki who is incredibly skilled at the Gantz game and won his freedom before the series' start, but he later enters the game again.

Gantz's personality as a person is unknown, however when inside the Sphere his humour is dark and acidic, calling the Hunters pejorative names such as "Bitch", "Titties" and "Homo" in their profile screens, and often commenting on how poor was their performance in the Game when giving away the points. Whether this trait is shared by every clone or it is just the Tokyo Clone sense of humor is unknown.
