膝丸燈

Akari Hizamaru (膝丸 燈, Hizamaru Akari) is a Japanese boy and a martial artist. After the death of his childhood friend, he chose to join the Annex Project to find the cure of the deadly A.E. virus that afflict the Earth. He is also one of the few people who were born Post-Surgery and inherited the Mosaic Organ.

Shokichi is a man of justice, laid back and very caring and considerate to his subordinates. However, when someone dear to him is being harmed, he would show a completely different side of himself and is ready to kill anyone in the process.

マルコス・エリングラッド・ガルシア

Marcos can be seen as a trouble maker at first, but he is a good person who value his friendship with his friends and care greatly about them. He cared greatly for his childhood friend Sheila Levitt and after witnessing her death he went berserk and killed the Terraformar that killed her and after taking the drug he almost killed all the Terraformars that were surrounding them had he not been exhausted. He also stated that while his feeling for her wasn't love he liked her, wanted her to be happier than anyone else and the reason he came to Mars was to protect her. His care for his friends can be similar to Shokichi Komachi care for his comrades and friends as both of them were driven by rage and sorrow to kill the Terraformars due to the death of someone they greatly cared about.

アレックス・K・スチュワート

Alex loves baseball and greatly admires major leaguers ever since he saw one of their games with his parents. He throws with his right hand and bats with his left. Alex is particularly a loving guy towards his friends. Going as for Marco in standing a fight with him. He's as well a live spiriter when it comes to competitions against Marco.

イワン・ペレペルキナ

Differently from the other members of the russian team, Ivan is always cheerful and positive. He is good hearted, very altruistic, emotive and also a bit naive. Asimov noted that Ivan is a true communist and a good man after hearing him talking about the Annex Project. When the situation requires it, he can also become very serious. After his sister's death he also start to assume a little some of her behaviours.

While at first he was the least characterized officer in the Annex, usually staying in the background and not standing out too much (despite being the tallest person in the Annex), after his betrayal was exposed, he revealed his confident and ruthless personality. He has shown to be tolerant of his subordinates minor blunders (such as Hong's), but he also has showed respect to a fallen adversary (Alexander Asimov).

When Yuriko was 4 years old, she lost her parents to an automobile accident and she became a orphan. As an orphan she was placed in the same facility as Akari Hizamaru and grew up with him, becoming his only childhood friend. Unfortunately, at 17 years of age she contracted the A.E. virus, and became hospitalized until she transferred to Thailand due in need of a heart transplant because her heart condition degenerated. Despite this, she was unable to survive long enough for the heart transplant and passed away.

蛭間七星

Shichisei Hiruma (蛭間 七星, Hiruma Shichisei) is the major of the Japan Air and Self Defence force, and deputy commander of U-NASA's Annex Project.
