No. 6

ネズミ

Nezumi is a main character in No.6 where he is seen in the novels, manga, and anime. His name is directly translated in the English versions to "Rat" which was his name given to him by his adoptive father Rou. After coming across Shion when they were children, Nezumi would rescue him when he was targeted by the authorities in the city of No.6.

紫苑

Shion along with Nezumi is one of the main characters of the No.6 series. Living in the city of No.6, he is found by Nezumi fleeing from the authorities when they were both 12 years old. Later when they were 16, Shion would be rescued by Nezumi as they both delved into the true situation concerning the city.

イヌカシ

Inukashi is a major character in the No.6 series. They live in a hotel located in the West Block and manage a business renting rooms and loaning dogs for warmth. Inukashi has a deep connection with the dogs around them, where they were raised by them. They are familiar with Nezumi who they certainly do not get along well with. Inukashi also finds Shion brought to them one day, whose demeanor they find bewildering. Inukashi is not referred to with any form of third person pronouns in the original Japanese or the English manga translation, so most English speakers opt to use "they/them" for Inukashi.

沙布

Safu is the childhood best friend of Shion. Also a resident of the city of No.6, she attends the same school as Shion before going abroad for her studies. While Safu shares her romantic feelings for Shion, she would just be seen as a friend.

火藍

Before the timeskip, around Shion's twelfth birthday, she has long hair tied in a loose, over-the-shoulder ponytail with a thick-banded hairtie with a cherry accessory on it. She wears a pale blue sweater under a darker cardigan, and a long, dark blue skirt with a green hem over black leggings.

力河

Rikiga has short, brown hair and is slightly balding. He has a "petite handlebar" moustache and a short beard. His eyes are brown, and he is slightly over-weight.

Yamase is a character in No.6. He is Shion's coworker. Working at the Park Monitoring Station with Shion, he would also find someone deceased in the park. Although dutiful and loyal to the city, through no fault of his own Yamase would be one of its casualties in being effected by a parasitic wasp which resulted in him perishing.
