カイマン

Caiman (カイマン, Kaiman) is the main protagonist of the manga and anime series. He is a human born in the Hole with an immunity towards magic. He has made it explicitly clear that "Kaiman" was not his actual name, but was given to him by Nikaido after he began suffering from amnesia. His lizard head being the result of a Magic User's curse, and his main goal to seek out the one who cursed him in order to change his face back. But, because he can't remember who cursed him, Kaiman resorts to clamping his mouth around the head of every Sorcerer he comes across. He lets them meet the "man" in the back of his mouth before pulling them out so he can ask them all the same question: "What did the guy inside my mouth say?"

能井

Noi (能 (の) 井 (い) , Noi) is an elite Magic-User, and the partner and long-time friend of Shin. She works with him as a cleaner for En, her older cousin.

ニカイドウ

Nikaido (ニカイドウ, Nikaido) is Caiman's companion, and they both hunt Magic Users. She is the owner of a restaurant called the Hungry Bug in the Hole. There she serves primarily gyozas with a few slices of shiso, which Kaiman adores. She is secretly a Magic User.

心

Shin is a tall man with a muscular build, short blonde hair, blue eyes, and pale skin. He is often seen in a formal suit while wearing a heart-shaped mask backward. He uses glasses when he isn't wearing his mask. He has stitches running along his arms and hands from his surgery to gain magic powers. He usually uses a claw hammer to fight, which is his primary weapon of choice besides his magic.

恵比寿

Ebisu (恵 (え) 比 (び) 寿 (す) , Ebisu) is a Magic User who is a member of En's organization, and is the unofficial partner of Fujita. She wears a skull mask, which varies in design throughout the series.

煙

Typically seen in loosely worn formal attire and wears his long, red hair spiked upwards. He has a broad forehead and menacing eyes, further defined by his lack of eyebrows. His mask consists solely of a mouthpiece resembling something between a gas mask and a skull's mouth. beneath the mask, he is revealed to have a thin mustache with a goatee.

藤田

Fujita is a young male with average height and a scrawny build. He has short and scraggly hair patterned in black-and-white stripes. His magic mask resembles a Tengu, covering only the top half of his face and is complemented by an ushanka. Fujita wears a black graphic T-shirt and green cargo pants, alongside brown gloves and usually wears a red and blue backpack with white straps on him. He wears devil funeral shoes to honor his deceased partner Matsumura.

栗鼠

Risu is tall and has a muscular build similar to Kaiman. Inhabitants of the Hole assumed he was Kaiman with his restored human face. His hair is dark-tipped and sometimes sticks up in spikes, but through most of the story it lays flat. He wears a single piece grey suit with no sleeves, later seen sleeved with a thick collar. Large, nail-shaped stakes are attached to his chest, arms, and legs.

会川

Aikawa has short black hair and tan skin, with black colored eyes and thick bushy eyebrows. He is always seen wearing a black hoodie with beige pants, and a metal baseball cap that matches with his leg armor. Aikawa is usually seen wearing a black gas mask that is typically connected to his hat, but it is removeable. It covers the entirety of his face.

壊

Kai (壊), also known as the "the Boss," is one of the personalities inhabited in the body of Ai Coleman and the founder as well as boss of the Cross-Eyes organization.
