Kekkaishi

墨村良守

Yoshimori Sumimura (墨村良守, Sumimura Yoshimori) is a Human with Kekkaishi powers living near the Karasumori site. He is the main protagonist of Kekkaishi and the middle son of the Sumimura Family. He attends Karasumori Academy with his childhood friend Tokine Yukimura. His brother refers to him as Yoshi.

雪村時音

Tokine Yukimura (雪村 時音, Yukimura Tokine) is a human with Kekkaishi powers living near the Karasumori site. She is the deuteragonist of Kekkaishi, as well as the only child of Shizue Yukimura and the late Tokio Yukimura. She attends Karasumori Academy with her childhood friend and neighbor Yoshimori Sumimura, a Kekkaishi from the Sumimura Family.

墨村正守

Masamori Sumimura (墨村正守, Sumimura Masamori) is the firstborn son of Sumiko Sumimura and Shuji Sumimura. While he excelled as a Kekkaishi, he was dissatisfied with the restrictions placed on him as a non-Successor, and eventually left home. He joined The Shadow Organization, founding and leading its Task Force (more commonly known as the Night Troop). Masamori is later promoted to the 7th seat on the organization's executive committee, the Council of Twelve, a position vacated by his former mentor Mudou.

火黒

Kaguro (火黒) was one of the strongest Ayakashi in Kokuboro (and therefore one of the few able to resist Byaku's control worms). Though he does not participate in the leaders' meetings, Kaguro has a great deal of influence among them, and is often sent to Karasumori in human skin to observe attacks on the Kekkaishi. Kaguro is eventually defeated by Yoshimori.

刃鳥美希

Miki Hatori (刃鳥 美希, Hatori Miki) is Masamori Sumimura's second-in-command and Vice Chief of the Night Troop who is often accompanied by her aide, Higurashi.

扇七郎

Shichirou Ougi (扇七郎, Ougi Shichirou) is both the seventh son and the Legitimate Successor of the Ougi Clan. He has a great deal in common with Yoshimori Sumimura, including enormous power and a personal relationship with the god of his family's shrine, Lady Mayuka. He is nicknamed Shinigami (死神, Shinigami) because he has a reputation for having killed countless people, to the point where people say that he "kills as if it's the will of the Gods." He was hired by the Sousui to kill several members of the Council of Twelve, though the Sousui betrayed him and attacked Arashizaki Shrine, which is under Shichirou's personal protection.

鋼夜

Kouya is a dark purple demon wolf, with red eyes and markings over his body that are purple. He has a very long, sharp tail. He also has an X-shaped scar on his chest.

赤亜

His original form is a giant squid-like demon who can shoot lasers from his head's blood-red tentacles and having fun while doing it and making funny shooting noises like a kid. Sekia in his human appearance appears to be a skinny, pasty young man with spiky red hair.

月地ヶ岡俊彦

Toshihiko Tsukijigaoka (月地ヶ岡俊彦, Tsukijigaoka Toshihiko) is the younger brother of Masahiko Tsukijigaoka, the patissier ghost. He runs their family's snack food business, because Masahiko became a patissier and abandoned his position as heir.
