Made in Abyss

ナナチ

Nanachi (ナナチ) is the tritagonist of Made in Abyss. They are a Narehate, a person who survived the 6 Layer's Curse and was left deformed as a result; however, unlike most other Narehate, Nanachi retains a sound mind. Possessing vast knowledge of The Abyss' ecosystem, vegetation, and even the use of medicines, they join Riko and Reg on their descent through The Abyss. Their gender is ambiguous.

レグ

Reg (レグ, Regu) is the deuteragonist of Made in Abyss. He is a robotic being with the appearance of a young boy; his true origins are unknown, as he cannot recall anything about his life before being awoken by Riko. She names him after a dog she once owned, "Reg," but it is later revealed he went by the same name prior to ever meeting Riko. He voluntarily joins Riko on her descent through The Abyss in search of answers to his unknown past.

リコ

Riko (リコ) is the protagonist of Made in Abyss. She is a 12-year-old girl from Orth, the town at the edge of The Abyss, and the daughter of the legendary White Whistle, Lyza "The Annihilator." When she was only two, her mother began her "Last Dive" to the bottom of the Abyss, leaving her in the care of Belchero Orphanage given the death of her father, Torka, prior to her birth.

ファプタ

Faputa (ファプタ) is Irumyuui's final child, birthed within the 6 Layer of The Abyss from three wish-granting eggs. She is referred to as the "Princess of the Hollows" and "the embodiment of Value" by Majikaja and the inhabitants of The Village of Iruburu. She was born with the nature to destroy Iruburu and put her mother to rest, but is unable to enter the village to eradicate those inside. She can speak both the language of Iruburu and the language of the Delvers.

プルシュカ

Prushka (プルシュカ, Purushuka) is the adoptive daughter of the White Whistle Delver, Bondrewd. Not much is known about her early life, as she fell victim to The Curse of the Abyss, resulting in intense physical and psychological damage from which she had to begin life anew.

ヴエロエルコ

Vueko (ヴエコ), whose full name is Vueroeruko (ヴエロエルコ), was a captive woman who was chained by her neck in a deep pit of sludge beneath The Village of Iruburu.

ベラフ

Belaf (ベラフ, Berafu) is one of the Three Sages of The Village of Iruburu. As a human, he used to be one of the key members of the Ganja Suicide Corps and is now one of Iruburu's most important residents.

メイニャ

Meinya (メイニャ) is Prushka's pet, given to her as a tenth birthday present by her adoptive father, Bondrewd. Its name is a result of Prushka not being able to pronounce "Meinastilim" when it was given to her. After the events at Ido Front, Meinya joins Hello Abyss on their adventure to the bottom of The Abyss.

ジルオ

Jiruo (ジルオ), addressed as Leader (リーダー, Rīdā) by his students, is a Moon Whistle Delver who serves as a teacher for the orphans from the Belchero Orphanage in the town of Orth. While he works as an instructor for the children, he is also largely responsible for their upbringing and well-being.

マジカジャ

Majikaja (マジカジャ), or sometimes just "Kaja," is a Narehate living in The Village of Iruburu. They can understand and communicate using human speech, though they sometimes forget words and sometimes refer to themself in the third person.
